Thankful Thursday

On this last Thursday of 2021, I would like to reflect on some of the things I'm thankful for this past year:
  • New memories with my three daughters. We have been able to get together once a month the entire year with some super fun activities.
  • Weekly visits with my parents, Dan and Shirley, my sister Linda, my brother Tim, and sister-in-law Jane. We talk about anything and everything.
  • My two nieces, Ashley and Gracie that are doing well at college.
  • My three nephews and their wives, I love them as my own.
  • Seeing my extended family at the family reunions in July and in September.
  • Time with friends.
  • My support group of women that have lost their husbands. They help keep me grounded and know that I'm not alone.
  • Reading the entire Bible this year through a community.
  • Writing on my blog almost every week,
  • Being a vendor at the Farmers Market selling my handmade cards.
What are some things you are thankful for this past year? Feel free to comment below. I would love to hear from you.

With love,
Patty

Thankful Thursday

"I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds" (NIV)
Psalm 9:1

Each Thursday, I send a text message to my three daughters called "Thankful Thursday".
We each respond with something we are thankful for.
More than ever, I feel it is important to find something, anything to be thankful for.
This Thursday, I'm thankful for restful sleep.  After a long workday, I'm very tired and exhausted.  Having restful sleep helps me begin the day with the energy that I need to get things accomplished at work and at home.
Feel free to respond with something you are thankful for in the comments below. I enjoy hearing from you.
May you have a wonderful day.
With love,
Patty

Thankful Thursday

Each Thursday I send a group text message to my three daughters called "Thankful Thursday". We each respond with something we are thankful for. I have grown to really look forward to this day each week as I feel it is a wonderful way to stay connected with them.
With this being the week leading up to Easter, I'm thankful for Jesus taking our sins to the cross. The Bible tells us in John 19:30 "When He had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that He bowed His head and gave up His spirit." God sent His Son Jesus to pay the debt in full for our sins so that we may have eternal life. The Bible also tells us in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life". We all have the promise of eternal life.
Feel free to leave a comment below, something you are thankful for. I love reading your comments.

Thankful Thursday

My blog is a place where I like to write my reflections on finding joy through grief. My prayer is that perhaps, my blog may be of some help to you. One way that has helped me with finding joy through grief is to focus on things that I'm thankful for.  It can be something I'm thankful for right now or it can be something I'm thankful for from the past.
Each Thursday I send a group text message to my three daughters called "Thankful Thursday". We each respond with something we are thankful for. This has been a way for us to stay connected and to share something we are thankful for.
Today I would like to share something I'm thankful for.  I'm so very thankful for the gift of sight. I can see all the beauty of God's creation in nature. I can see the words on paper so that I can read. I can see the faces of people everywhere I go. There is so many things I can see and I never want to take that for granted.

Feel free to share something you are thankful for in the comments below.

Today I would like to share something I'm thankful for.  I'm thankful for the encouragement found in God's Word. Many times, when I'm feeling sadness, or anxious I will look those words up in the concordance of the Bible or go to www.biblegateway.com to find encouragement.  In Psalm 9:9-10 tells us "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble."

Thankful Thursday

Each Thursday, I send a group text to my three daughters called "Thankful Thursday". We each share something we are thankful for within the text message. Some weeks, perhaps, we all struggle to find something to be thankful for. However, we all do find something to be thankful for and we share that with each other.
Today, I'm thankful for God's Word in the Bible that gives me hope and encouragement. Psalm 31:24 "Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord".
Feel free to share in the comments below something you are thankful for today. If you prefer, you may keep this between you and the Lord which is perfectly ok.

Thank you for visiting my small, humble blog.
May you have a blessed day.

Thankful Thursday

It may not always be easy to "Begin Each Day With A Grateful Heart"-however, if at all possible, I try my best to find something to be thankful for each day.
One way to make this an ongoing endeavor and to keep me accountable-each Thursday I send a group text to my daughters called "Thankful Thursday" and we each reply with something we are thankful for. Some weeks it may be a struggle to find something to be thankful for. Other weeks there are many things to be thankful for. We each do our best to reply with at least one thing we are thankful for.
Since doing this, I have found myself more aware of the many blessings I have.  It has helped me focus on the positive and not so much of the negative.
I also found this wonderful article on the 10 benefits of giving thanks, hopefully this will be helpful to you as well.
