Psalm 91:1

Psalm 91:1 (NIV) "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."
How can we dwell in the shelter of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty?
If we think and dwell on the negative that is going all around us, it can be hard to have peace and rest. The Lord asks us to think about the following things in Philippians 4:8 (NIV) "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think on such things."
Let's take all these things in this verse and break them down:
Think about what is true=The Lord
Think about what is noble=The Lord
Think about what is right=The Lord
Think about what is pure=The Lord
Think about what is lovely=The Lord
Think about what is admirable=The Lord
Think about what is excellent=The Lord
Think about what is praiseworthy=The Lord
The Lord is all these things. When we think on these things, we can dwell in the shelter of the Most High, and we will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
Prayer to help us dwell in the shelter of the Most High:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help us to think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy in which You are all these things. When we think on these things, we will dwell in the shelter of the Most High, and we can rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
