Memories

In grief, we miss our loved ones. And rightfully so, they were and still are an important part of our lives.
Part of my journey has been reflecting on those memories. Sometimes, they bring me joy, sometimes they bring me to tears. The tears come because I would like to have more current memories, and I realize this side of heaven, I will need to live with the memories I do have. Here on my blog, I have shared memories of my son and husband, and I will continue to share them. If you would like to read them, the links are listed below:

As important as it is to reflect on those past memories, my daughter has often said, "let's start some new memories." We have been doing our best to make sure that we start new memories as well. For the third year now, we have had our very own "October Fest." We share a meal of chili, cornbread, salad, and apple crisp. This year, we added a crafting portion to our event and decorated pumpkins with sharpie markers. This was fun, and we laughed through the process. Here is a photo of our completed pumpkins:

How do you feel about the memories you have of your loved one? Have you started any new memories? Feel free to comment below, or you are always welcome to contact me. My contact form is on the sidebar of this blog.

Thank you for visiting my small, humble blog.

Finding Rest

The weight of the world and the responsibilities of life can sometimes make us feel weary and burdened. In Matthew Chapter 11 in verse 28, Jesus tells us, "come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Thankfully, when we are feeling this way, we have the promise that Jesus will give us rest.
~Gentle Suggestion~
Take a few moments to write in a notebook, journal, or open up a word document on your computer, the concerns that make you feel weary and burdened. As you write out your concerns, pray that Jesus will help give you rest.  I have also created a printable that you are free to use: Today's Concerns Printable

Prayer:
Thank you, Jesus, that You will give us rest when we are feeling weary and burdened.
In Your name, we pray, Amen.

Thank you for visiting my small, humble blog.

Patty

Resting In God's Promises-(The Begining Of An On Going Monthly Series #1)

Have you ever had something promised to you that didn't happen? If you have, please know you are not alone in this.
The Bible is filled with thousands upon thousands of God's promises. Although I do not pretend to be an expert on theology, I do my best to hold God's promises close to my heart.
I watched a video by Dr. David Jeremiah, and he made this suggestion- "one of the reasons why you want to get involved with the promises of God is because there are so many of them. You could spend the rest of your life and never get them all, but it's a good project. I recommend it to you."
I would like to start this project and share God's promises on my blog on the first Sunday of each month. Please contact me or reply in the comments below if you have any promises of God you would like to share.
God's Promise-Eternal Life:
"For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NLT)

We have eternal life by believing that God's Son, Jesus took our past, present, and future sins to the cross, and Jesus paid the price for our sins.

Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your promises. Help each of us to hold these promises close to our hearts as we go through our lives. Thank you that we may have eternal life through Your Son, Jesus. This is a beautiful promise.
In the name of Jesus, we pray,
Amen

May God bless you each and every day.

Thank you for visiting my small, humble blog.
With love,
Patty
