God's Promises (A Monthly Series #6)

Resting in God's promises is an ongoing project, and the introduction can be found in this post: God's Promises.
God's Promise-God gives us peace of mind and heart:
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid." John 14:27 (NLT)

Each of us has received gifts from family and friends and given gifts to family and friends. Whenever possible, I like to give handmade greeting cards along with a gift card or cash.
Sometimes, a gift may not have a dollar amount. We can give the gift of time to others.
Do you have a gift you like to give?
The gifts we receive are something we would most likely not purchase for ourselves. One gift I received was a necklace from my Dad that reads, "My little girl yesterday, my friend today, my daughter forever" this was so thoughtful, and I love to wear this necklace. Another gift I received that took me totally by surprise was a trip to Nashville from my daughters; this trip will be later in the year. I can hardly wait.
Do you have a gift or gifts you have received that are especially meaningful? Feel free to comment below; I would love to hear about a gift or gifts you have received.
The gifts we receive are wonderful, thoughtful, and appreciated.
God gives us gifts as well through His promises and through His Son Jesus-peace of mind and heart.

Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for Your promises. Thank You for the gift of peace of mind and heart. Help us not to be troubled or afraid.

In the name of Jesus, we pray.
Amen

Do you have a promise of God you keep close to your heart? If so, I would love to hear from you.
I will include them in future blog posts. My contact form is on the sidebar of this blog.

With love,
Patty
