Resting In God's Promises (A Monthly Series #9)

Resting in God's promises is an ongoing project, and the introduction can be found in this post: God's Promises.
God's Promise-God helps us to be strong and courageous
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

God gave this promise to Joshua after the death of Moses in the Old Testament of the Bible. His responsibility was to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. He was unsure how to accomplish this task independently, and God gave him the strength and courage to do this.
We can apply this to our lives today because we are God's people through His Son, Jesus. Being strong and courageous is something we cannot do on our own, and God is our source of strength.

Let us pray together,
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for Your promises. The example of how You told Joshua to "be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you." is very powerful. We ask for Your help to be strong and courageous in our daily lives. Thank you for being with us wherever we go.

In Jesus' name, we pray,
Amen

Do you have a promise of God you keep close to your heart? If so, I would love to hear from you.
I will include them in future blog posts. My contact form is on the sidebar of this blog.

With love,
Patty
