Today, we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. His birth was foretold 700 years prior in the book of Isaiah chapter 9:6 "For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
I told my daughters that I'm so thankful that Christmas Day is recognized and acknowledged in the world. Most businesses and stores are closed in observance of this precious day, and we gather with family and friends to celebrate His birth and show love to one another.
God sent His Son, Jesus, to be born in a barn with the animals in the most humble circumstances. God could have done things so differently, yet He did this out of love for each of us.
This time of year can also be difficult when we miss lost loved ones, health issues, and the everyday stress of life. May we each find comfort in knowing that God loved us enough to send His Son, Jesus, to be our Savior.
Merry Christmas!
With love,
Patty
