The Glow Of The Christmas Lights

"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." Psalm 119:105 NIV)

Many houses and outdoor trees are decorated with lights for the Christmas season. Everyone I talk to mentions how they enjoy driving to see the homes decorated with the Christmas lights. There are even specific places where you can walk through a path of lights. We are all drawn to the glow, and the lights spark something inside that brings us warmth, comfort, and peace.
My drive to work is in the early morning when it is still dark, and the lighted trees along the streets that I drive brighten my commute beautifully. Much like the lighted houses and outdoor trees, God's word in the Bible is a light for us as well. As we read in Psalm 119:105, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."

Let us pray together,
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come to you now with thankful hearts for Your love for us. Help us to draw near to Your word in the same way we draw near to the glow of the Christmas lights.
In the name of Jesus, we pray,
Amen

With love,
Patty
