Self-care and soul-care are essential for our well-being. We are not being selfish to want to take care of ourselves. With encouragement from my daughters, I needed to learn to do this myself. Trust me, I do not have it all figured out, and this is an ongoing learning process. I can offer a few suggestions to practice self-care and soul care:
- Adequate sleep and rest.
- Fueling our bodies with healthy, nutritious food.
- Regular exercise.
- Time with family and friends.
- Reading God's word is beneficial for our soul-care. If unsure of where to start, reading the Psalms will bring notes of promise and words to pray.
As we practice self-care and soul-care, we take care of our bodies that have been fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139
With love,
Patty
