Where Can We Find Our Identity?

There are many things where we can find our identity: our name, age, marital status, weight, skin color, where we live, and so many other components of our lives. While these things make up who we are, our true identity is in the love that God our Father has for us, and He loved us enough to send His Son Jesus to take our sins upon the cross so that we will have eternal life.
Today, I would like to share some Bible verses where we can find our identity:
  • "This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:10
  • "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans 8:10 (NIV)
  • "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)
  • "For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD, your God, has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be His people, His treasured possession." Deuteronomy 7:6 (NIV)
  • "I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
Do any of these Bible verses resonate with you? If so, feel free to comment below. I would love to hear from you. Maybe even write them down in a journal if you would like so that the verses are there to refer back to often.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come to you now and thank You for all the components that are a part of our lives. Help us to rest our identity in Your love and in Your Son, Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we pray,
Amen

With love,
Patty
